about ‘livin la vida coco’

i arrived in los angeles on a cool saturday night in september 2006. filled with encouragement from my washington, dc friends and red wine, i landed at LAX with my cat and the promise of a new start. and while i was tempted to turn right back around, the city of angels’ newest daughter put her fear and baggage claim tickets back in her purse…because coco needed her hands free to grope her destiny.

‘livin la vida coco’ is the chronicle of an east coast girl learning how to pronounce pico de gallo, not stare at celebrities, and avoid rehab in a place called hollywood. less titillating than an episode of E! true hollywood story yet more scandalous than reader’s digest, ‘livin la vida coco’ can be considered an effective guide of what not to do in the land of swimming pools and movie stars.

happy reading, y’all!
